In my opinion, EY wants to provide its interns with a complete experience of the lifecycle of each engagement, so you can learn a lot during your time at EY. I was also encouraged to express my own areas of interest that I would like to work with, including as an intern. In order to succeed as a trainee lawyer at EY, I have found it extremely important to be open and proactive in the face of new challenges and enthusiasm for business law. Other skills I`ve found helpful are good English skills and strong interpersonal skills. But above all, a correct and practical attitude will take you far! I joined Ernst & Young in October 2018 and participated in several interesting engagements during my internship. EY Law`s function is active in various areas of business law and focuses primarily on transactions, corporations and restructurings as well as employment law. In addition to working with my Finnish colleagues at the national level, I found it particularly interesting to be able to participate in international engagements at EY from the beginning and to work with my EY colleagues from all over the world. As a trainee lawyer at EY, I was an integral member of our legal team and was given similar duties to our newly graduated lawyers. My responsibilities included researching and editing, creating and commenting on legal documentation, translating and supporting EY`s other service lines when they needed our team`s legal expertise.
